Honeymoon Bay, BC
Honeymoon Bay is a picturesque lakeside community on the South Shore of Lake Cowichan on Vancouver Island. It is a one and a half hour drive from Victoria, a thirty-five minute drive from Duncan, and ten minutes from the town of Lake Cowichan.
Event day parking
There is limited parking available at the race venue. Additional parking is available at the Honeymoon Bay Community Hall on Park Drive, a 10 minute walk from transition.
Day of Race schedule
Transition opens at 5:00 am. Bike racks are assigned by race category. Transition is open to athletes and race officials only. All athletes must be out of transition by 6:45 am.
The Half distance swim starts at 7 am. The swim start is shallow water start in 2 waves starting 5 minutes apart. The standard swim starts at 7:30 also in 2 waves 5 minutes apart.
The swim cut off is 8:20. Anyone who has not exited the swim by 8:20 will be offered assistance to shore and will not be allowed to continue the race.
The bike course cut off is 2:30 pm. Anyone who has not returned to transition by 2:30 will not be allowed to continue onto the run course.
The race cut off is 5:00 pm. Anyone who has not completed the run by 5:00 pm will not receive an official finish time and cannot count on marshals and support on the run course.
Awards will take place at 5:00 pm at the race venue.
